WAITING FOR AN ANSWER - (mixed media- line and color) In anticipation of a friend's wedding today, I played with one of life's bigger questions, Are you ready to commit? What does it mean today to give your committment to another? WAITING FOR AN ANSWER poses the question.... Using line along with constrasting color, I set out to state some tension for this young bride-to-be. She is partially dressed, draped in light and shadow with contrasting tones. Her lips are slightly pursed as she holds her tongue waiting for the answer. Her body posture has been slightly sculpted to resemble a question mark and she postures herself in restraint in anticipation of the answer. She makes the statement of readiness, but she is anxious at the same time. A wedding poses the line of demarcation, which separates us from our former life, our childhood. ARE YOU READY?.
