STRAWBERRIES & PITCHER - I have found out that I have a liking for the dramatic. It shows up when I paint reflections and transparency. Oil is by far the best medium to paint these things. The blending comes easier for me in oil than it does in the water media. Keeping it wet and staying away from mud are two things I struggle with. My impatience shows at times. Okay, most of the time. I got so wrapped up in this painting that I forgot where the focal point should be. I need to stay true to my design. I think more sketching and value studies will help. Overall I am slightly pleased, but it is often easy to see my shortcomings.
