WHAT A PAIR!

Does my ART uplift?
Does my ART offer hope?
Does my ART move the emotions?
Does my ART represent and define possibilities?
Does my ART demonstrate and teach?
Does my ART express in a different and unfamiliar way?
Does my ART promote balance and connection?

as much as I am drawn to watercolor, I am often amazed at the look of oil. It has a richness that cannot be imitated easily with other mediums. I see why it is probably the most popular with the masses. Oils still dominate and rule. I personally think that acrylic paints have the most potential of all the mediums but it is more difficult for me to make the watermedia have the same look as oil.

Many of the portrait artists from the past used still-life to warm up for their portrait work. I have found a face in these pears and got almost as excited painting them as I do painting people. I am learning to see with each painting I do. The small subtleties and nuances in each piece captivates my eyes as much or more than the entire subject.
