This is the softening and blending stage. I am working to get smoother transitions and some lost and found edges. I am keeping with the pallette of colors that I first started with to eliminate mud. I add a few details in to get closer to finishing. The trick here is to stop before I go too far and overblend. I only want to capture the mood and the story, not push the painting too far. I refine here hands and eyes a little to create focus. There is a natural tension between Abbie and the cup. I must make some decisions about where to draw the eye. I will live with this for awhile to try and harmonize the background and foreground colors, edges, and shapes.
