Now the real fun begins. I begin to define with line, color, and texture. Her image is beginning to take on some detail, without defining too far. I am squinting to keep from over-defining too soon. The look I am after is one with painterly loose strokes. It is tough to resist defining here personality to completion. I am moving across the whole picture to prevent focusing too much on a small area for too long. I am varying the strokes and texture to add variety and interest.  Posted by Hello

I have about 5 hours into this painting at this point. It is like discovering the drinking cup with her. She loves the supple drinking spout. She is beginning to get teeth and I am sure it feels good to chew on this spout. Her Mom slips some ice into the water to ease her pain. She loves the independence of holding her own.
