MOTHER AND CHILD CONNECTION (marker) - watching my own children connect and bond with their children has caused me to reflect more on the importance of this bond. My parents are now gone now. I reflect often about this connection that I had with my parents. It now occurs to me, that a childhood bond endures for a lifetime (and maybe longer). Our society is now afraid to hug. How wrong can we be? This work represents the bond that we make with our own. We must feel connected to feel complete. I am amazed how line and simple color can get me so excited and emotional. I painted myself into this picture. It is giving me a chance to reflect and refocus my own life, once again. I left the eyes void. It is not the eyes that see in this instance, but the "eyes of the heart". Look carefully and you can see the picture is really a symbolic HEART.
